10 ways to prevent breakin in residential apartment

Is Condominium and Service apartment considered the most secured place to stay? The perception has change after many security issues crept up in the past. Most of residence are not aware that the are staying  thief within their condominium. This thieves are mostly tenant that moved from one apartment to another just to make a living by breaking into apartment units.

The property management and residential association are fighting to reduce such crime but unable to. We are suggesting the 10 ways to prevent breakin in residential apartment.

  1. Residence association or committee should check the background of the new tenants to their building
  2. Add more security cameras in the emergency staircase and elevator.
  3. security guards patrolling at each residential floors. Get the security guard to use guard patrolling device so their patrolling are monitored.
  4. Select a security in-charge person among the residence  in every floor or alternate floor. Form a security sub-committee with a purpose to know the tenants at their floor,  volunteer  to patrol at a few floors.
  5. Access control for emergency door and elevator. Remember the fire department or Bomba restrict you from putting the access system at the emergency doors. You can still get an approval from Bomba if you can add glass break exit button at the emergency door . Also connect the exit sensor to the fire control panel so it releases the door during fire.
  6. always make sure the security patrolling routes is changed from time to time. A predicted patrolling are always not good. never let the criminals to study your activity.
  7. Property Manager should send a welcome letter to a new tenant simply to tell them that the management knows their existence.
  8.  Introduce security apps for gated community or form a WhatsApp group to keep the community informed about suspicious activities.
  9. To inform the management if the residence is going away for long holidays so the management can get the security guards to do their patrolling more often in the respective floors.
  10. Unit owners can set up their alarm to call their security hotline number like CMS in case the alarm goes off.  Security guard is the best person to attend the CMS call during panic.

How to stop Snatch thieves from your residential areas

Residential area is a target for snatch theft today. More and more of new cases are rising with new tactics and method use on the victims. Residential such as non-gated & gated are the targets.

It is on a rise and causing more worries to the residence that is walking to shop, going to work by public transport. How to stop snatch thieves from dueling in your areas? How to stop their activity?

If you are a member of residential association, please look at this points and ideas on how you can prevent snatch thief activities

1. Reduce accessibility by closing roads especially If your are staying a none gated community

2. Signage warning of snatch thieves

3. Adding more speed breakers. Its not snatchers friendly

4. Neighborhood watch for unknown or suspicious act of the motor bikers.

5. Educating the community by blogging or an alert thru messenger service like whatsApp or Facebook.

6. CCTV – If you can’t afford to put up outdoor cameras at the residential area then work with those owners with surveillance camera already fixed for their house.

7. Motor bike patrol by security guards. Also get them a patrolling clocking points

8. Apply/Get police blue box and note book so that police patrol car can stop at your checkpoint giving more deterrent for criminal activity.

9. Committee can always call for more get-together meeting with residence to discuss about the security matters.

10. Always call the local Authorities like the Police to give ideas for criminal prevention. PDRM (Polis DiRaja Malaysia) are very helpful on this matters. You can also call security providers usually they can help giving tips on security awareness.

A non gated committee should form a Residence Association (RA) for the betterment of your property and security. RA are allowed to collect fees to mend the cleanliness and security of their housing area. Once a RA is formed thru COMMISSIONER OF BUILDINGS (COB) , then the RA can approach the municipal council on putting up fences, closing some entrance/exit roads & putting up security post so the security guards can provide better surveillance.

Patrolling is esential in security service for any sectors of business. Basically to deter criminal activity and maximize safety in particular areas, protecting both people & property. Security Guards Boleh!

The security guards in Malaysia…..Boleh! If the Paralympics of Malaysia can win 3 gold medals in RIO 2016 today, we don’t see why our Security Guards can’t be excellent. Blue i security is taking the winners of the Paralympic of Malaysia as a motivation for our security team. There are approximately 800 licensed security service provider in Malaysia. KDN, PDRM and PPKKM has given their best by introducing security guards training in order to maintain the standard of the security industry in this country. Ever since the commencement training such as CSG (certified Security Guard) & TNG (Trained Nepal Guards), there has been great improvement of our security guards. Blue i Security believes that we have to do more by continuing in-house training for the guards that has attended CSG or TNG courses.

Blue I Congratulates the Winners;  Mohamad Ridzuan Mohamad Puzi, Muhammad Ziyad Zolkefli and Abdul Latif Romly for bringing in gold medals to Malaysia. Mohamad Ridzuan won the first gold medal for Malaysia in the men’s 100m T36 (cerebral palsy category) dash. He clocked 12.07 seconds to erase the old Paralympics record of 12.25s set by Roman Pavlyk from Ukraine at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic. That being said, we hope for more positive news about our beloved country. The levy and the cost of bringing the Nepal Gurkha’s has risen to RM 4800.00 first time and Yearly to about RM 2550.00

Government pays up to RM 10.00 per hours for Security today but they only hire Malaysian security guards.

In the private industry more and more companies are looking for Trained Security Guarding with either Nepal guards or Malaysian Guards. The demand in gradually increasing the rates are going from RM 7.50 to RM 8.50 for Normal Services. Prices are rather higher for Premium Services, Tactical & armed Services.

Some of the private companies still hiring below par security services just for budget reasons but later realize that there are issues when it comes to insurance claims, performance, training, experience and so on.
