Traffic Police Malaysia

Malaysian Traffic Policeman Shot at a Suspect In Kuala Lumpur

A traffic policeman shot a suspect’s car that was trying to escape. This incident happen in a broad day light when the traffic police trying to stop a suspect. The suspect was in a tinted Nissan car and was trying hard to flee from the chase. It was merely impossible in the beginning as the traffic was heavy at the both end but after a long struggle the suspect with a Johor car number plate finally escaped.

If you analyse this video, the public could have made an effort to block the suspect’s car thus make it difficult for the car to maneuver. This will make easy for the chasing police officer to apprehend the suspect. There should be a security alert for the public to report the movement of the suspect e.g. emergency alert apps, panic call system, suspect location sharing apps and etc.

Security companies should do it first. Security company  should embark into using security apps that can alert a crime scene to help the police therefore the security guard are just acting informer so no one gets hurt.

Malaysian Police Crime prevention

Crime Prevention

Crime Prevention based on Situation for an Organization

Lets say you have a motivated offender.

There are possible controls that can be imposed such as

  1. Plan accessibility rules and Deny access to sensitive areas ,
  2. Warn of punishment for illegal behavior by putting more signage and etc ,
  3. prosecute apprehended offenders or else ….

there are other crime prevention techniques perhaps reduces the available assets at you building or areas,

make the crime prone areas to be less attractive to the thieves

and you can alter the behavior of the potential victims so they are less likely to be victimized. E.g…..

There are Public train station connected to private buildings, for such cases a study should be conducted to alter the behavioral pattern of people in the private building…

such as by allowing executives attires only, no smoking or vaping areas, no waiting areas, remove bench that you know will ended in one or two people sitting at a snatch thief prone area, put a signage no loitering area and many more.

make vulnerable assets impossible for thieves to benefit e.g  installs lock for mini statues, place designers vase at the more traffic area, lock small kiosk, install CCTV at vending machines, lock the soap dispenser in public toilets, Barrier the access to the power switch gear area and many more….

or increase control by assign security officers to protect the location or increase the number of security personnel.

install and upgrade a security system such as CCTV, Access control system, One way door lock system and turnstile to limit the entry of people.

Organization can get more awareness  or to educate the non-security employees and others to participate willingly in loss prevention strategies. We have consulted many organization and found this to be very effective and cost saving compare to hiring security guards for a small purpose.
